Abaca Coffins

Abaca (or Manila Hemp) is one of the most eco-friendly materials available; 100% bio-degradable and capable of absorbing more carbon dioxide than it produces. In its native Philippines, Abaca fibre is highly valued for its exceptional strength and flexibility, qualities that make it perfect for green coffins.

Abaca is part of the banana tree family, and is a light taupe colour. The texture of abaca is rustic, but still smooth to the touch. Tightly woven to create a strong, natural product, Abaca coffins are truly works of art.

To complete the product, our Abaca coffins are lined with a plyboard base, for extra rigidity, and a white biodegradable polyethylene liner, which is fully waterproof.
